From Grace to Favour: Transitioning from January to February 2025
Grace Extended, Grace Multiplied
As I step into February, I’m not walking away from January’s theme—The Grace of New Beginnings—as if it were just a checkpoint. Instead, I’m carrying it forward, allowing it to lay the foundation for this month’s focus: Faithful Favour.
This year, I’m approaching each month as a continuation of God’s unfolding plan, where one lesson builds upon another. The overarching theme for 2025, Grace Extended, Grace Multiplied, is becoming clearer each day. I see it in the way God is revealing Himself—not just through what He does, but through who He is.
Lessons from January: Discipleship, Scripture & Tangible Grace
1. The Discipline of Discipleship
One of the most significant revelations from January has been the ongoing conversation in my church about discipleship. It’s a topic I’ve heard many times before, yet this time, something in me has shifted.
Discipleship isn’t just about believing in Jesus; it’s about actively following Him with intention and discipline. There’s a weight to being a disciple—it’s not a passive identity but an active calling.
This month, I found myself reflecting on questions such as:
How am I practising discipline in my walk with God?
Am I truly following Him, or am I expecting Him to follow me?
Is my faith rooted in who God is or in what He does for me?
These reflections have been both humbling and empowering, shaping the way I move forward—not just into February, but for the rest of the year.
2. A Renewed Love for Scripture
Another unexpected joy from January has been my deepened love for reading the Bible.
A few days before Christmas, I started a Bible reading plan with a small group via the YouVersion Bible app, committing to a few chapters each day. So far, I’ve journeyed through Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, and now Numbers.
While Genesis and Exodus were familiar, Leviticus was a challenge. I’d never read it from start to finish before, and yet, through it, I was reminded of God’s unwavering love for His people—and therefore, for me.
Even in the laws, the rituals, and the instructions, I saw God’s grace. His care was woven into every command, not as a burden, but as a provision. It reminded me that His grace is present in every season—the beginning, the middle, and the end.
This has deepened my desire to continue immersing myself in the Word—not as a duty, but as a privilege.
3. Seeing the Hand of God Through Challenges
January wasn’t without its difficult moments—both personally and professionally. But what stood out wasn’t the challenges themselves; it was how God’s grace sustained me through them.
One of the biggest milestones? My book is here. The physical copies of Nourish My Spirit: A Fasting, Prayer & Recipe Journal have arrived, and holding them in my hands is a surreal reminder of God’s faithfulness.
This new journey into entrepreneurship is both exciting and overwhelming. But what has truly moved me is experiencing the kindness of strangers—people I never expected to support me. It reminded me of Proverbs 3:4:
"Then you will win favour and a good name in the sight of God and man."
Favour isn’t always found in familiar places. Sometimes, God uses unexpected people to bless us. This has been a tangible reminder that God’s faithfulness isn’t confined to a specific group—He moves through whomever He chooses.
Stepping into February: Faithful Favour
With all these lessons in mind, I’m stepping into February with expectancy—not for anything specific, but for whatever God chooses to do.
Faithful Favour isn’t about striving for blessings—it’s about recognising that God’s favour is already present in my life. It’s not about earning His goodness, but about aligning my heart with His will.
This month, I want to:
✅ Meditate deeply on scriptures that speak of God’s favour.
✅ Recognise where favour is already evident in my life.
✅ Walk in faith, even when I don’t see immediate results.
A scripture I’m holding onto this month is Psalm 90:17:
"May the favour of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands."
This reminds me that whatever I put my hands to—whether it’s my book, my business, or my personal growth—it is God who establishes it. My role is to be faithful.
From Grace to Favour: A Journey of Trust
So, as I transition from January to February, I’m not leaving grace behind—I’m stepping forward with grace multiplied.
Grace carried me through new beginnings in January.
Favour will sustain me in faithfulness in February.
Both are rooted in one truth: God is the source.
I pray that as we move into February, we continue to embrace both grace and favour—not as something to chase, but as something to walk in daily.
