Love Languages in Biblical Actuality: Quality Time with God
There’s something so sacred about uninterrupted time with God. Finding those still moments is essential for the soul in a world that moves fast.
Last year, I had the privilege of travelling to Zanzibar, Tanzania, for a dear friend’s wedding. Amidst the beauty of the island, one of my most cherished moments wasn’t on the beach or at the celebration—it was on a quiet veranda, journal in hand, water beside me, and no interruptions.
I sat there and spoke to God. I wrote. I reflected. I surrendered.
When I Didn’t Know What Was Coming… But God Did
That moment changed everything. I didn’t know Nourish My Spirit would be born. I didn’t know I would write a book. I didn’t even know the full depth of what 2025 would hold for me.
But I knew this: God meets us in the quiet.
James 4:8 — “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”
And in drawing near, I felt a peace warmer than any tropical sun.
Quality Time: A Love Language of Heaven
In relationships, spending intentional, distraction-free time is how we deepen connections. The same applies to our relationship with God. He desires our presence, not just our prayers in passing.
💛 Ways to Spend Quality Time with God:
Schedule a “Date with God” – No phone, no distractions, just you & Him.
Journal Your Heart Out – Write your prayers, reflections, or even letters to God.
Take a Walk & Talk to Him – Nature often reminds us of His presence.
Simply Sit & Listen – Be still. Let His presence fill the silence.
Psalm 46:10 — “Be still, and know that I am God.”
God Desires Your Time, Too
Now that I’m back in London, life moves quickly—business, work, meetings, community. But I’ve realised that if I can make time for everything else, I must make time for the One who orders my steps.
God loves quality time, and so do I. Because in those moments, I get to be unapologetically me. I get to pour out my heart. But more importantly, I get to hear His heart concerning me.
