The Table Still Speaks: What This Season Has Been Teaching Me
I know I’ve been a little quiet on here.
But truthfully… this is what life has looked like in this season.
Not just going out to eat —
but sitting at tables.
Having conversations.
Being poured into.
Recently, I went to Sweet 1ne — Afro-fusion, full of flavour, creativity, and culture. From jollof sushi to calamari, from sweet plantain to oxtail and rice, every plate told a story.
But what stayed with me wasn’t just the food.
It was the fellowship.
I was raised in a home where food was never just food.
It was community.
It was sharing.
It was “bring what you have and let it meet someone else’s offering.”
Rice and peas next to jollof.
Curry goat soaking into white rice.
A table that didn’t have to be perfect — just present.
And in this season, my sisters have been pouring into me in that same way.
Gently. Intentionally. Lovingly.
And I thank God for that.
Because as much as I love to pour out…
God will always send people to pour back into you.
Lately, I’ve been moving with my appetite —
exploring, creating, tasting.
Plant-based.
Fish.
Caribbean.
West African.
Asian.
Latin flavours I’ve yet to experience in their homeland… but I’m learning through the plate.
Food has been teaching me again.
That life isn’t just about what you produce —
but also what you receive.
Known By Name: The Ministry of Anna the Prophetess
This March, my heart is honouring Anna the Prophetess (Luke 2:36–38).
She wasn’t introduced by scandal.
She wasn’t reduced to widowhood.
She wasn’t defined by motherhood.
She was named.
Anna.
Prophetess.
Faithful.
Rooted.
Present.
Her fruit wasn’t in children — it was in discernment.
Her ministry wasn’t loud — it was consistent.
Her reward? She recognised Jesus when He entered the temple.
May we be women who stay.
Women who discern.
Women who are known by heaven — even if overlooked by earth.
What I Do While Fasting (Beyond Not Eating)
Fasting was never meant to stop at food.
In this reflective post, I share what I add during seasons of fasting — generosity, intercession, reduced distractions, and spiritual alignment — and how fasting becomes an invitation to draw closer to God, not just abstain.
Are You Seeking God’s Face — or Just His Hand?
I was having a lovely conversation with a friend of mine about transactional conversations / friendships being a strain, and it dawned on me especially in corporate fasting season, does God sometimes feel that we treat Him in a transactional way?
Fasting Isn’t ‘just’ the Point — Alignment Is
There’s a lot of conversation around fasting these days, and what kind of fasting is right or wrong.
This blog post shares/ draws on my thoughts and findings from studying the word in this season round fasting and praying
