Jesus Never Fails: Why Your Failure Is Never Final
Growing up, there was a song we used to sing in church that said:
“I have a God who never fails, I have a God who never fails… Jesus never fails, forevermore.”
The older I get, the more real those words have become to me.
If God — who created you and me — is perfect, then nothing He allows in our lives is wasted. I’m not saying that I’m perfect, but by Him, I am perfected (Hebrews 10:14). And because God does not make mistakes, nothing I’ve experienced, nothing I’ve learned, not even the moments I call “failure,” are mistakes in His eyes.
The Bible says in Genesis 1:27 that we are created in the image of God. And here’s the truth: no facet of God’s image includes failure. God cannot fail, so even when we stumble, He doesn’t discard us. Instead, He redeems our mistakes, our wrong turns, and our missed opportunities to bring glory to His name and to shape us into who we are becoming.
Romans 8:28 reminds us:
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
All things. The successes and the stumbles. The mountain-top moments and the quiet tears in the valley.
So even when you feel like you’ve failed — in business, in relationships, in your personal walk with God — take heart. God does not see you as a failure. He sees you as His child, His beloved, His image-bearer. And He is more than able to turn even this into something beautiful.
Devotional Reflection:
Take a moment today and lay that “failure” before God. Name it, surrender it, and ask Him to show you what He is teaching you through it.
Scripture to Meditate On:
💛 Psalm 37:23-24 – “Though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.”
💛 Micah 7:8 – “Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light.”
💛 2 Corinthians 12:9 – “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that You never fail. Thank You that even when I stumble, You hold me steady. Help me to see my mistakes through Your eyes — not as the end, but as part of my becoming. Use every “failure” to refine me, restore me, and bring glory to Your name. Amen.
