Celebrating Mother’s Day in London, UK
Honouring Mum: A Heartfelt Mother’s Day in London
Mother’s Day in the UK is a special time to celebrate the women who have nurtured, guided, and loved us unconditionally. Whether it's your biological mother, grandmother, or a mother figure who has stood by you, today is about expressing gratitude for their sacrifices and love.
For me, Mother’s Day is more than just a celebration—it’s a reflection of God’s faithfulness. My mother has been my first home, my provider, and my spiritual guide. She may not always quote scripture by name and verse, but through the Bible stories she taught me, I’ve come to know the faithfulness of God in my own life.
Dear Mumma,
My first home, my safe place,
The hands that held me, the heart that nurtured me.
You were my first source of nourishment,
Feeding me in body, soul, and spirit.
You introduced me to my Maker,
The One who gave me to you.
You did your best, and in this journey of life,
Each new dawn for me is a new day for you as a mother.
I thank God for you—
Not just as my mum, but as a living reminder of His faithfulness.
When I doubt, when I worry,
You remind me—perhaps not by chapter and verse,
But through the stories you made me read as a child.
Stories of God's saving grace, His protection, His provision.
Like Hannah, you prayed. (1 Samuel 1:27)
Like the Proverbs 31 woman, you laboured in love. (Proverbs 31:25-28)
Like Mary, you carried a promise within you. (Luke 1:45)
And today, I celebrate you—
For your love, your strength, your unwavering faith.
Happy Mother’s Day, Mumma.
Final Thoughts
Motherhood is a reflection of God's love—tender, sacrificial, and full of grace. Proverbs 31:28 says, “Her children arise and call her blessed.” Whether through words, actions, or a simple hug, let’s take the time to remind our mothers how much they mean to us today.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mothers out there! 💐
