Embracing the Season of Change: A Reflection on New Beginnings

There’s something undeniably beautiful about the way seasons change, especially here in London. The cooler breeze, the vibrant autumn leaves, and even the shift in the air—it all whispers of renewal and transition. Life, much like the seasons, moves in cycles. With each turn, there’s an opportunity to embrace new beginnings and refresh our perspectives.

Recently, I prepared a simple yet nourishing meal: baked salmon, bulgar wheat, a mixed leaf salad, and baked plantain. It wasn’t just food on a plate; it was a reminder of God’s provision and the beauty of His timing. As I savoured each bite, Ecclesiastes 3:11 came to mind:

"He has made everything beautiful in its time."

This verse was part of my September theme, "Recipe for Success”, and its resonance grows deeper with each season. It’s a scripture that reminds me of two truths: God’s timing is perfect, and His creations—including you and me—are crafted with intentionality.

Sometimes, life demands a change of pace. We grow weary of routines, find ourselves in the middle of challenges, or sense a nudge to step into something new. It’s easy to resist, to stay in the comfort of the familiar. But just as the seasons change effortlessly under God’s control, we’re called to trust His timing in our transitions.

I often think about how nourishment—both physical and spiritual—plays a role in preparing us for these shifts. A meal, thoughtfully prepared, is more than just fuel for the body. It’s a reminder of the care and love God extends to us. Just as I combined ingredients like bulgar wheat and plantain to create something wholesome, God uses the varied moments of our lives to craft something beautiful in His time.

As we enter this season, let’s reflect on what it means to embrace change. Are we holding onto old habits or mindsets that no longer serve us? Are we preparing our hearts to receive the blessings that come with stepping into the new? Just as the leaves fall to make way for fresh growth, we, too, must make room for what God is leading us into.

This autumn, I’m challenging myself to focus on intentional nourishment—not just for the body but for the spirit. Whether it’s through wholesome meals, time spent in prayer, or leaning deeper into His Word, I’m choosing to trust the process and embrace the beauty of what’s to come.

So, as the cooler days increase in this London town, I invite you to pause and reflect. What new chapter is God calling you into? How can you trust Him more fully in this season?

Here’s to embracing the changes with gratitude, faith, and intentional nourishment—for both body and spirit.

Let’s live out Ecclesiastes 3:11 together, trusting that He truly does make everything beautiful in its time.
